Happy New Year and a wonderful Christmas time

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, it's Christmas time. This holidays are the sweetest
of the year, we are happier and more kind, our eyes show more compassion for the
poor ones than the rest of the year, traditional songs sound everywhere, families meet again
and children play and laugh with their new presents. It's a time to be grateful, to let go of old stuff and an opportunity to embrace renewal and illusion.
May Peace and Happiness be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!

Creativity

Today everybody talks about creativity but let's analize what true creativity is about in order to discover a bit more about this wonderful manifestation of the human being.
With tend to associate creativity with a moment of ilumination, that moment in which one exclaims "Eureka!", but that's not something that appears suddenly from nowhere, in reality this is preceded by persistent thinking on a given topic and a lot of daydreaming. It's important to take into account here that ilumination on itself is not yet a creative act, even if we are referring to a great discovering or a revelation; the final stage is translating that big idea into action so it becomes useful for oneself and for others.
But originality and usefulness are not enough, in fact an important dimension of creativity is the existence of the public, the way in wich a creative effort is received makes the difference, and if we talk about making an impact that public must be the appropiate one, specialized.
Against the common opinion these days creativity is not a single skill that a person can use in every activity, creativity is not like a fluid that can flow in any direction, no, the physical explanation of this fact is that the brain have different areas or intelligences, like the mathematical, linguistic, spatial or musical. Therefore one can be very creative solving problems with regularity in a particular area but not in others. Creative people is permanently thinking on their field, they live asking: What make sense here and does not make sense? and if this makes no sense what can I do for changing it?.
We can think of creativity like cooking, there are different ingredients: the main one is expertise in a specific area, ability; the second one is flexibility and a openmind, this includes imagination of different possibilities and the courage to accept taking risks; and the ingredient that cooks all is passion, this is, inner motivation, the impulse of making something for the mere pleasure of making it, rather than for any external premiun or compensation.
There are also other elements that we need to take into account on this analysis, for instance it's recommended to look to common things in a new way, it's vital to question things. It's good to have some degree of innocence, of naivety and the eyes wide open, the reason is that if you know too much about the errors in the past and have too many believes about what can not function, you don't try many things.
Together with this is sense of humour, it's paradoxical but even when creativity demands hard work, the work is made much more easily when one takes it with certain degree of flippancy. Making jokes results very useful: humour is on itself a creative state.
I'll continue in another entry with more ingredients that can offer you a better inside about creativity, in the meantime please enjoy yourself, I haven't mentioned yet that joyfulness is also part of this. More soon...

Valentine's day

We have the idea that being in love is a state of being constantly happy, but this is not true, lovers suffer a lot, they fear losing the other person and they are aware that being in love is something that is condemned to finish as time goes by. Lovers live in the all or nothing, according to Francesco Alberoni there is not middle point when we fall in love, it's about living on the limit. Lovers expect everything one from the other and everytime the other don't meet their expectations they fell desperation. So yes, from the point of view of normality fallin in love looks very abnormal, but it is also something really magic; we can't plan falling in love, it's always a surprise, a discovering, something near to a miracle, and this is beautiful indeed, totally out of routines and obligations, the time with one's lover is always lived as something extraordinary,
unique. I mean it's a lot what can be said about being in love, it's very inspiring because it's like a moment of rebirthing, it means like a new opportunity for renewal and future, and it tends to the idealization of the person we are in love with, the rest of the world also looks much more friendly when we are in love, it's like a color that dies everything around.

I just would like to wish a wonderful romance to all the lovers that I know and to those that I don't, why not? It's quite worthy. Our love histories are something that come with us the rest of our lifes for better or for worse and I think the best way forlearning is through love, by living our fellings, the rest is interesting but this is live changing. So congrats.

Smile

I support all forms of meditation because I don’t think it is possible to find oneself in the outer world, this is a inside job, the more I live the more I believe in this idea. I practice meditation myself but I am an heterogeneous way, recently I discovered reading about Indonesian costumes that smiling is positive while meditating because it attracts benefiting energies, in fact, in the Western cultures we smile so far too little. So the message today is that smiling is very good for you, meditating or in your daily activities so please, give it a go. You’ll see that people is nicer to you and your days become lighter, it’s only a question of paying attention and when finding yourself too serious changing the attitude, it is in fact more difficult than taking thing serious but it’s worthwhile. Humour and conciousness can change your life.
